Famine Time

This weekend is the 30-Hour Famine!! Remember, no eating after lunch on Friday! Make your last few meals count!

If you are participating and have signed up, please arrive at the church Friday night at 6:30. Bring the following: your fundraising envelope, a sleeping bag, pillow, modest PJ's, a change of clothes, a coat, hat and other outdoors-wear, and an empty backpack (we'll explain later). You can arrange to be picked up at 7:30 Saturday night. I can't wait to be hungry with you!

Because of the famine, Sunday night will be low-key. We'll be watching a movie from 6-8 pm in the youth lounge. This is an all-ages gathering. Bring your usual $ for pizza, and come ready to relax and recoup before the Monday morning rush...

see you soon.

President's Week Update

Hope everyone is having a great week, whether you're off from school (Haddonfield) or still plugging away (Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, Bishop Eustace and everyone else). Thanks for the great kickball Friday night and a nice little gathering on Sunday night.

Looking Ahead... This Sunday afternoon is the Echelon Mall "Winter Mall Walk for the Homeless." The plan is to walk around Echelon Mall (now known as the "Town Center") to raise awareness about homelessness in our area. Everyone is invited to meet up in the foodcourt at the mall between 1 and 1:30. The walk starts at 2 pm, and yellow balloons will guide you to the starting line. Sadly, I will not be there. However, an adult from our congregation has agreed to be there as a point person. His name is Ed Hess (see picture below). Make sure you check in with him, and then you're free to walk at your own pace. Plan to get picked up no later than 3 pm. Here's Ed:

In other news, if you are a 30-hour famine person, we need to start gathering sponsors! I will leave a stack of sponsor envelopes at church, which you can pick up anytime, including Sunday Morning. The goal is for people to sponsor you for every hour you don't eat. Let's see how much money we can raise in the next week or so! Ask your teachers, your neighbors, your friends... Everything goes to fight hunger through World Vision International. Stop by church to pick up your envelopes ASAP.

See you all soon.
