Week Off

Hi Friends,

Just letting everyone know I will be away this week on a pastor's retreat.

(Below is a picture of Whidbey Island, Washington, where I'll be- try to contain your jealousy...)

Then next weekend I'm off to NYC with Ken Carter and the Sherrerd Choir (wooohooo!). Which means NO Youth Group on 2/1 (Confirmation class - remember about your dinner project at the Methodist Church!).

So, everyone enjoy the Superbowl ("pick a team, any team") and I'll see you all on February 7th at the Chicken Dinner!!

Forms, etc.

I am posting below the consent and registration forms for the upcoming 30 Hour Famine, which you (hopefully) read all about in my recent mailing to you... This was a very fun and challenging experience last year - you won't want to miss it!

If you want to go, I need the forms above (click on them for a larger view, then click "print"), plus $25 (checks to "The Presbyterian Church at Woodbury") by this Sunday!! You can bring them to me at church in the morning, or at youth group (usual time) in the evening.

Time Flies

We had a good time this week unearthing our 2008 time capsules, and creating new capsules to dig up in 2010! Just for fun, here are the group pictures from way back in '08, and then the ones from this year...

Also, an apology: I promised you winter calendars, but they weren't ready by Sunday night. I'll be posting them here this week, but in the meantime, remember these upcoming items:

Friday night is the 8th-12th grade lock-in! 8pm until 9am Saturday. bring friends!

Sunday night: youth group for 6th &7th graders only!! Regular time & place.

Monday: Martin Luther King Day of Service! Meet here at 8:30am(!) wear grubbies & be ready to work! We'll eat lunch here at church and be done by about 1:00 pm.

Youth Group 2009!!

As you can see, we're loaded up and ready to haul out a new year of youth group!!

To get started, join us this Sunday (January 11th) for youth group at the usual time & place (youth lounge; 6th&7th graders 5-6:30, 8th-12th graders 6:30-8). We'll kick the year off with some games and good times, and a look at what's ahead in '09.
Also at that time, Jeremy will pass out 2009 youth group calendars (Calendars will also be posted to this website for easy reference).

Finally, 8th-12th graders mark your calendars for next Friday night, the 16th - that's the night of our first 2009 Lock-In! Bring friends and plan on some crazy good times. More info to come...
