New Baby

Introducing Levi James Sanderson - born last Thursday.
His name comes from Deuteronomy 18:5 - "for the Lord has chosen Levi, out of all the tribes, to stand and minister in the name of the Lord, he and his sons for all time." Not a bad namesake.

But enough about me...

Thanks to those of you who came out for games and deep thoughts with Eryn last Sunday. Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Unfortunately, this Saturday's Pedal for Promise bike trek has been called off, due to lack of interest. Anyone who still wants to ride can call me for details and info.

Sunday night, everyone is invited to come on out to support our kids choirs as they put on their musical performance "David and the Giant." Meet me in the youth lounge at 6:30 for pizza, and then we'll head down to the show together.
hope to C U then...

Easter

Happy Easter! I hope at some point this weekend you have a chance to stop and marvel at the good news, and give thanks to God.

Perhaps the video below will help. Keith Green was a Jesus follower in the 70's who died in a plane crash at the age of 28, but not before challenging the church to wake up, and writing some of the best modern hymns ever. This is one of my favorites, performed live at a nightclub in LA...

No youth group this Sunday. Enjoy your family celebrations...

Passover Seder

We are about to enter a very holy week in both the Christian and Jewish calendars. In the gospels, the meal that Jesus celebrated with his disciples (known as the last supper) was the Jewish passover meal. It is a meal still eaten today by Jews and Christians alike, full of symbolism: for Jews, symbols of the exodus from Egypt, and for Christians, symbols of the coming of the messiah, Jesus.

Our youth group passover seder will happen this Sunday from 6 - 7:30. If you're a big eater, you might want to have a light dinner beforehand, because the seder itself is slim on food. But, it will be a very cool opportunity to enter into Holy Week in a special way.

Find us in the hospitality room (lowest level, across from fellowship hall). This is an event for all ages and you are welcome to bring friends. Please come ready to take this seriously and try something new.

Until then, Shalom Y'shua (Peace of Christ)!
